Paula V. Salinas, 84, a lifetime resident of Concepcion, Texas died Saturday, May 5, 2012 peacefully at home with her loving family by her side. She was born March 11, 1928 to her parents, Saturnino and Francisca Vera. Paula was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Concepcion and was a Guadulapana. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking and making homemade quilts.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose S. Salinas; a daughter, Avilda S. Ramirez; a son Casimiro V. Salinas; brother, Luis Vera.
Paula is survived by her son, Jose (Laura) Salinas, Jr. of Concepcion, Texas; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Salinas of Mission, Texas; two sisters, Isabel V. Benavides and Honorable Judge Teresa V. Perez of Concepcion, Texas; seven grandchildren, Jose Salinas III, Pedro Luis Salinas, Joey Ramirez, Debbie Rubio, Arturo Ramirez Jr., Cassandra Salinas and Carissa Salinas; four great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Monday, May 7, 2012 at the Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Concepcion, Texas. Interment will follow at the Salinas Cemetery in Concepcion, Texas.
